H ello there, Welcome back! In today's blog, i am going to discuss on a topic that is most important for people to know. By understanding this, i may not guarantee to remove the fear of snakes that you may have but, i am sure that you will start observing snakes from a different perspective.  We all know that snakes are definitely not everybody's favorite animal. Within ourselves we fear snakes with an understanding that the snake will bite us and we will die. But this misconception towards snake is going to change after this blog. Snakes are carnivores in nature and their favorite prey is rodents (in general) chicken eggs, cats, birds, lizards and other small animals. They have no intentions to harm any human being. Bitten by a snake? Do not panic!

Snakes frighten most of us, isn't it? So what do you do in case if you or someone is bitten by a snake?  W orry not, let us all understand a few basics and follow these protocols that will be helpful anytime in case of snake bites. Close to about 45,000 people in India die every year due to snake bite. But what if you or someone you know is one of the victims of snake bite? Do not panic, read the following!! Snakes entering your home? Do not worry!

How to avoid snakes from entering your houses? W e may encounter numerous snakes in our backyard either daily or maybe a frequent visitor, so how do you let the snakes not enter your house? Just follow these few steps given below: 1. Keep the surroundings clean. 2. Separate wet and dry waste by making a proper waste management system.   3. Do not throw any food around the house. 4. Do not pile up items such as coconut shells, wooden logs, and tree branches. 5. Cut the excessive branches of trees/plants/creepers that are grown. If you keep the surroundings rodent free, there is absolutely zero chances of snakes entering your home. But, there are definitely conditions that area applied to this as well.  If you keep your surroundings clean and your neighbour does not, then there are chances of snakes entering the area, also since snakes are cold blooded, there are times when if it is too humid outside, the snake may enter your home finding a cooler place to adjust its body temper...

"Big 4" snake species of India!!

We may encounter numerous snakes in our backyard, on the road, in the jungle or when you are on a trek!! Well how do you identify if the snake is dangerous to human beings or not? Well, today i am here to explain you the number of species of that are in the world as well as in India. Firstly let us know what are snakes? Snakes are elongated limbless reptile that are covered in scales. All the snakes are carnivores and mainly feed on rodents, birds, lizards, and other snakes. Their lower jaw is expandable and can swallow any prey without much problems (this varies from specie to specie). There are about 3000+ species of snakes in the world, but talking about India, there are only 300+ snake species that are found and few more are still being discovered which will add up! Out of these 300 species only 15 snakes are venomous and are a threat to humans....But; out of these 15 snakes that are a threat, there are only four snakes species that are considered medically important snakes....
